About the program
Our Grade 1–2 Soccer Program is intended to help develop young soccer players in a low-stress, player development-focused environment. Games are played 5v5 with a keeper, and consist of two 25-minute halves.
Practices
Teams practice once per week at Beverly Middle School Grass Field. Your coach will confirm the practice day at the start of the season.
Games
Games are played on Saturday mornings at Birch Plains Field, between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Your coach will confirm your team's specific game time at the start of the season.
Recommended gear
Grade 1–2 players will need shin guards, a size 3 soccer ball, and soccer cleats. Please note that baseball/softball cleats are not allowed — there's an additional cleat on the toe that isn't suitable for soccer. If you have a uniform from a prior season that still fits, please feel free to wear that.
Uniform Numbers & Names
Players may choose any number and either their first name or last name to display on their uniforms. This gives each young player a chance to personalize their jersey and feel proud wearing their BYSA colors!
Important — ear piercing: Please do not pierce your child's ears prior to the start of the season. Jewelry is not permitted during games or practices for player safety. Newly pierced ears cannot be taped over, and players with fresh piercings may not be able to participate until fully healed.
Registering multiple children?
If you have siblings or multiple children to register, please back out of TeamSnap completely and re-enter under the appropriate age group for each child. Each player must be registered separately through their own age group's registration link.
