Play Futsal with BYSA!

Are you ready for some futsal?!

Futsal is a fast-paced, fun, competitive 5v5 indoor soccer game, generally (in the US) played on basketball courts with smaller, deadened balls. It's a low-commitment (1 hour per week) winter activity that allows for incredibly fun, fast, competitive play, tons of touches on the ball, tons of decision-making opportunities, and winter technical development that actually shows on the soccer pitch in the spring.  When you hear coaches talk about 'the game being the best teacher', futsal is that idea taken to the extreme.

It's fun.  It's fast.  It's great exercise.  And starting now, you can play directly through Beverly Youth Soccer Association.  Whether you're just looking for a fun opportunity to play with friends, or want to take your soccer game to the next level, we'd love for you to join us.  Just choose the option (or options) that are right for your child, and get registered today!

Frequently Asked Questions

What grades participate?

We're fielding teams from grades 3-12.

How many players per team?

An ideal futsal bench is 7-8 players.  An ideal futsal roster is 10 players.  We will target 10 players per roster.

Will I be with my ECYSA team?

Not necessarily.  BYSA Soccer teams may have anywhere from 13-20 players rostered, while an ideal futsal roster is generally, at most, 10 players.  BYSA teams are seeded for strength - ECYFL teams playing in the same division will be organized for competitive play.

Are there any additional requirements for High School players?

Yes - as most High School players didn't participate in an MYSA-insured league in the fall, they must complete an additional MYSA registration found at https://fs23.formsite.com/massyouth/0tsowt93ys/index.html - you can learn more about why, and what this insurance covers, here.

How will coaches be selected?

Coaches will be identified from fall ECYSA coaches and will be asked to take a team from the league.  ECYFL requires the same credentialing as ECYSA, so it's easiest for us to draw from existing coaches.  High school teams will need to get a parent or adult guardian credentialed.

Do I need to be from Beverly to register?

NO!  You do not need to be from Beverly to play with us.  If your player played ECYSA soccer in the Fall, they can register and be rostered normally.  If your player played only club soccer, they'll need to register with Mass Youth Soccer (for insurance purposes) at https://fs23.formsite.com/massyouth/0tsowt93ys/index.html prior to the season in addition to registering for futsal with BYSA.

Are scholarships available?

YES - please email registrar@bevsoccer.org if you need financial assistance - please note, however, that your player will need transportation to Hamilton on Sundays, and carpooling is coordinated on a best-efforts basis.
